There is hardly anything cozier than spending a cool autumn evening in a tipi tent with a stove. Gather around the stove, prepare your meal on the cooking plate, and enjoy the warmth that spreads throughout the tent while the cold is only shielded by the cotton tent canvas.

With a stove in your tipi tent, you extend the season by several months. The stove effortlessly warms your tipi tent to a comfortable temperature. However, when outside temperatures fall below freezing, the stoves reach their limits and may struggle to maintain a cozy room temperature. Therefore, in the cold months, we recommend packing warm clothing in addition to the stove.
Glamping Tent with Stove by Amaroq
It is easy to install a wood stove in an Amaroq glamping tent. Our models Medium, Large, XL, XXL, and Emperor are all equipped with a pre-cut opening for the chimney, so you don't have to face the nerve-wracking task of cutting the hole yourself.
Additionally, the tent is reinforced with a fire-retardant material around the opening to a reasonable extent. If you are not using the stove, you can simply close the opening with a cotton flap fastened with Velcro.
Is it dangerous?
Precautions should be taken when having a hot stove in a tent. However, there are some types of tents and materials that are more suitable for installing stoves than others.
The tarp of our tipi and glamping tents is made from a cotton blend consisting of polyester and cotton. Cotton is naturally fire retardant, while the opposite is true for polyester. Therefore, it is not recommended to use a stove in a pure polyester tent.
This is different for polyester/cotton tents. The cotton blend from which our tent is made requires extremely high temperatures before the tent transitions from melting to burning. If a spark from the chimney falls on the tarp, it is not enough to ignite the tarp.
In the worst case, you get a small hole, and if the spark is small enough, it remains a stain. To prevent sparks from falling out of the chimney, you can use a spark arrestor that catches any sparks rising through the chimney.
